- June 2009: Response by Richard Verma, Assistant Secretary Legislative Affairs, to the May 2009 House letter to Secretary Clinton.
- May 2009: Letter addressed to Secretary Clinton and Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs, Johnnie Carson, co-signed by 21 House Representatives, asking the White House to develop an explicit Chad policy.
- September 2008: Letter to Secretary Rice from Sen. Feingold admonishing the State Department for providing Security Assistance to Chad and Ethopia in violation of federal law 22U.S.C Section 2304 (a)(3).
- August 2008: Letter to Secretary Rice from U.S. Sen. Russell Feingold, Sen. Mary Landrieu, Sen. Joseph Lieberman, Sen. Patrick Leahy and Sen. Christopher Dodd in support of an inclusive peace process in Chad and an expanded U.N. mandate.
- April 2008: S.RES.470 is a resolution calling on the relevant governments, multilateral bodies, and non-state actors in Chad, the Central African Republic, and Sudan to devote ample political commitment and material resources towards achievement and implementation of a negotiated resolution to the natural and regional conflicts in Chad, the Central African Republic, and Darfur, Sudan.

December 2009: Following the meetings on December 24th between Chadian Foreign Minister Moussa Faki and Sudanese Presidential Advisor Dr. Ghazi Salahuddin, the U.S. expressed its support in a Press Statement (PRN: 2009/1318) for the continued engagement between Chad and Sudan to normalize relations
